Life
the thing with life is no one can tell you want to do
Its up to you whether you want to do it or not
That's why making decision is so hard

Nainam Sahib 15.04.54 – 01.02.09
For a new chapter to begin another must close. It is hard sometimes to put away a book that you love to read; it give so much excitement and keep you at the edge of you seat.
I recently read the one of Agatha Christie greatest works; Murder on The Oriental Express. It is about the murder of a millionaire Mr Ratchett on the train, The Oriental Express. It was later found that Mr Ratchett real identity was Cassetti. Cassetti was the principle instigator for the Armstrong kidnapping case. Cassetti was a part of the mafia who kidnap rich kids and holds them for ransom. Mr and Mrs Armstrong had paid lots of money to get their little Daisy Armstrong back. However after Cassetti took the money and fled the country, the police found little Daisy body. It was said that the body had been dead for a fortnight. Sonia Armstrong who was pregnant during the incident, give birth prematurely to a stillborn and she herself died during childbirth. Colonel Armstrong, shot himself out of grief. Mrs Armstrong's maid, Suzanne, was suspected by the police, despite her protests. She threw herself out of a window and died, after which she was proved innocent. The Armstrong Kidnapping, a very tragic affair.
The book was filled with excitement as well as confusion; clues pointing one direction, then an evidence pointing in the other direction. Who was this man with the womanish voice who was suspected to kill Cassetti? Who was the mysterious lady in the scarlet kimono nightgown? Yet our friendly Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot remained so calm. You see how in he subtle manner, M. Poirot laid psychological traps to get people to confess certain lies about their statements. Truly Amazing but the more the lies and deceit was uncovered the more perplex you become.
In the last chapter M. Poirot gather all the 12 passages to the restaurant car. The present 2 solutions to the murder and let the director of the train company decide which is to be presented to the Jugo-Slavian police. The 1st was that Cassetti was murdered by an unknown mafia for some unknown reason. The murder deposited the disguise in one of the compartment before getting away. And M. Poirot gave simple solutions to account certain evidences. However, the Doctor that examine Cassetti’s body object to the fact that the solution does not hold water as it is deficient in a dozen minor points.
The 2nd solution was very absurd. All the 12 passages were guilty. All of them stabbed Cassetti. All of them was related to Armstrong Case; be it relatives of Armstrong or Suzanne, servants or close friends. M. Poirot revealed their true identity not in am angrily manner because they we’re deceiving him but in a gentle and understanding manner. You could understand why they did it. They plan it so the in such detail so as to get justice and ensured that no one the train were to be suspected. But what they fail to plan was to have M. Poirot as an unexpected passager. When all was reveal, Linda Arden an accomplish actress and the mother of Sonia Armstrong said, “You know all about it, M. Poirot. You’re a very wonderful man. But even you can’t quite imagine what it was like—that awful day in New York. I was just crazy with grief; so were the servants. And Colonel Arbuthnot was there too. He was John Armstrong’s best friend. We decided then and there (perhaps we were mad—I don’t know) that the sentence of death that Cassetti had escaped had got to be carried out.”
“Well,” she said, “you know everything now, M. Poirot. What are you going to do about it? If it must all come out, can’t you lay the blame upon me and me only? I would have stabbed that man twelve times willingly. It wasn’t only that he was responsible for my daughter’s death and her child’s and that of the other child who might have been alive and happy now. It was more than that: there had been other children kidnapped before Daisy, and there might be others in the future. Society had condemned him—we were only carrying out the sentence. But it’s unnecessary to bring all these others into it. All these good faithful souls—and poor Michel-and Mary and Colonel Arbuthnot—they love each other. ...” Her voice was wonderful, echoing through the crowded space—that deep, emotional, heartstirring voice that had thrilled many a New York audience.
I was never close to father, our relationship strain over the year because of several incidences. However, one of my dream is to undo the pain that we had between use. Only recently I have taken steps towards this dream which would take years to heal. I can imagine. I can imagine how Linda Arden felt that day in New York. It was taken away from us. Time. Time with our love ones. The time that was meant to be. Dreams that can’t be shared. I will never have the chance to make him feel proud to have me a son. I don’t have a Cassetti to kill to get closure. But Linda Arden passion in her voice gave the words which I could not find to describe my heartache. For that I’m am eternal grateful to Agatha Christie; an incredible writer. For all those that were with me during this period of grief, thank you for your support.
